The Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) conducts is an internal court of the United States Patent Office that tries case, including inter partes, post-grant, and covered business method patent reviews and derivation proceedings, hears appeals from denials of patents by examiners and challenges to reexamination proceedings, and decides interferences.
