Merchandising (Merchandizing) Rights

Usually refers to the right to manufacture, sell, and distribute goods based on a copyrighted work, e.g., music, film, play, book—and more specifically individuals, events, images, or things found in it. Typically such rights would be to things such as toys, tee shirts, posters, etc. The term has no strict legal definition and so such rights in contracts must be very carefully defined.
