Civil Procedure [Practice] Rules

Refers to the rules of practice before a court or system of courts in civil cases. Civil procedure rules will dictate how a case is initiated, the timing of various pleadings, which branch of the court system it is allocated to, provisions for awards of costs, trial procedures, etc. The term Civil Procedure Rules or CPR is commonly used in the UK, in US Federal Courts the applicable term is the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure or FRCP.
