SC-FDMA

Single Carrier FDMA. A bit like OFDMA, but a cunning trick is played at the transmitter. An OFDMA signal is passed through another Fast Fourier Transform resulting in a signal somewhat like the input bits, but which has been filtered in a subtle way. This filtering reduces the performance requirements on the radio transmitter and helps to save battery. SC-FDMA could be thought of as OFDMA, enhanced.
