The United States’ International Traffic in Arms Regulations, administered by the State Department’s Directorate of Defense Trade Controls. U.S. regulations promulgated under the Arms Export Control Act, 22 U.S.C. §2778 and set forth in 22 CFR 120-130 with amendments in the Federal Register. ITAR governs primarily weapons and military equipment, while dual-use goods and other sensitive exports are governed by the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
