Deed

Although the term ‘deed’ is widely referred to as proof of real property ownership, i.e., a title-deed, in strict terms it is a legally binding promise that does not require consideration to be enforceable. From time to time an age may be styled and described legally as both a “contract and a deed.”  In some jurisdictions for a deed to be enforceable it must be notarised.
