Notice published in the Official Journal (OJ) of the European Commission inviting third party comments on a competition case seeking clearance under Article 81 or under the Merger regulation. Dubbed a Carlsberg notice after such a publication in a joint venture approval matter, Carlsberg-Tetley 1992 OJ C 97/21, under Article 4(3) of the Merger Regulation. The notice usually contains a short summary of the case and the names of the parties and is published with the parties’ consent.
