Saisie-Contrefaçon

Also referred to simply as a saisie, an order in French and Belgian law which an intellectual property holder may seek on an ex-parte basis to have a bailiff (a huissier) search an alleged infringer’s premises and seize evidence of the infringer’s activities including allegedly infringing goods. Evidence gathered in a saisie may then be used in court cases not necessarily limited to France. A saisie is similar to an English Anton Piller order
