Sometimes also called a “notice language” or “statutory notice language” it is a language stipulated in a contract or law in which legal correspondence and notices (for example of default, termination, etc.) must be sent to be legally effective. The purpose is to ensure that a mysterious document in a language the recipient does not understand is not ignored or its legal importance not recognised or understood.
