Some countries, most notably Germany, set high standards for the originality that a work must display before it is entitled to copyright protection. Thus in Germany, normally only personal intellectual creations that have attained a high level of creativity will satisfy the originality requirement, i.e., a work must rise above skilled craftsmanship. Similar concepts are found in the copyright law of France, Spain, and Italy.
