Implementation License

Semiconductor industry term that refers to a license that supplies a licensee with all the information necessary to create an implementation of a microprocessor, usually in multiple processes. Implementation licenses can be based on a license fee with or without a royalty. The license fee can cover a single implementation, i.e., one version, one process, a specified number of implementations, or an unlimited number of implementations.
