European General Court

Formerly known as the European Court of First Instance, the General Court hears cases brought against the European Commission. Its docket thus includes employment cases by Commission employees and contractors, contractual and tort claims and appeals of Commission decisions such as competition (antitrust) rulings and dumping and countervailing duties cases as well as appeals of denials of trademark and design registrations by the European Union Intellectual Property Office.  Appeal is to the European Court of Justice.
