Ephemeral Recording

An exception in some copyright laws, in particular the US, allows broadcasters to make a single recording of a copyrighted work to support the logistics of broadcasting and for archiving purposes – known as an Ephermeral Recording. Thus for example copies of recordings can exist in buffers or in pre-taped radioshows and provided there is only a single such copy it is not infringing.
