Case won by a plaintiff when the defendant failed to mount a defense or ceased to defend. Default judgments entered in the complete absence of the defendant can be difficult to enforce unless the defendant had proper notice of the case and was properly served with process, in a manner satisfactory to the jurisdiction where enforcement is sought.
